Women in Leadership: A Heroine’s Re-invention

ClareHeroines Journey

The latest edition of the pioneering Women in Leadership publication has landed! The publication is in equal measure political and personal, activist and practical, a publication curated expertly to bring diversity of perspectives and insight on women’s leadership and society at large.

This issue is their ‘Power of Influence’ edition and I’m thrilled to be featured as a ‘thought leader’ sharing some of my work with WDI Consulting, in creating a new paradigm in women’s leadership – a Heroine’s Reinvention.

Research has shown that women leaders bring a valuable and different voice to organizations; a voice driven by purpose, informed by intuition and delivered with a powerful mix of humility and the courage to challenge and innovate. However, often that voice and perspective is unrecognised. This leads women in the work place to feel ‘not enough’ because their value is not yet noticed or rewarded.

It’s time to change that paradigm; what if we saw things through a different lens, for example with the insight and wisdom of Patricia Arah Ann Taylor that,

“The origin of the word enough: From the German & Sanskrit ge'noh, meaning 'together reaching.'“From her essay ‘Seeing in the Dark’ part of the book Wisdom Works by Black Women in depth Psychology.

My article explores the research and applications of a new approach to leadership that includes the value of a woman’s perspective and experience.
